“Hotel and Tourism School”
COMFENALCO Antioquia, the Government of Antioquia and the Luis Amigó University Foundation received approval in December, through the Spanish Luis Amigó foundation, for executing a project which endeavors to train 200 men and women belonging to strata 1, 2 and 3 in the sub-regions of the Aburrá Valley, the West, Urabá and the Southwest, in knowledge and skills for working in the tourist, hotel and gastronomy sector.
With a total cost of €577.847, of which €400.063 are contributed by the Generalitat Valenciana and €177.784 by local partners, this intervention will be carried out during 24 months taking advantage of the Bureau’s recreational, hotel and leisure installations, as well as its decentralized units in the sub-regions.
The following stand out among this project’s strategies for intervention:
- Endowment of training spaces and scenarios.
- Training
- Work insertion and strengthening of entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Projecting the school towards professionalizing its students.
The sub-direction for Education, Culture and Libraries will be the area in charge of accompanying the development of this initiative with the support of the Unit for National and International Cooperation.
