Navarra Government approves resources for attention to infants
|

 On June 12, COMFENALCO Antioquia received notification from the Spanish DNGO Compartir Navarra where they approve delivery of €126.000 for executing the Center for Integral Attention to Childhood in Chigorodó – Year 1 project. This project seeks to improve access to initial education programs, health promotion and recreational activities for 4,626 boys and girls under the age of 6 in the lowest socio-economic levels of the municipality.
This is the COMFENALCO Antioquia’s fifth Center for Integral Attention to Childhood and the second financed with resources from National and International Cooperation, through which the organization works decidedly towards the welfare of the vulnerable underage population in the territory of Antioquia.
During the first year of intervention, which ends next December 31st, the Center will be built and furnished. It will be located near the El Prado neighborhood of the municipality of Chigorodó. Communications activities will also be carried out in order to ensure visibility for national and international cooperation.

Once the Center has been built,
this project will pursue the following results:
|

|
|
|
- Offering initial education services, health promotion, formation of socializing agents for the benefit of boys and girls under the age of 6, pregnant mothers, lactating mothers, fathers, community mothers, and adults responsible for caring for childhood.
- Promotion of the physical, mental, emotional and social development of the boys and girls that benefit from the Center for Integral Attention to Childhood in Chigorodó, by implementing Initial Education programs including Adequate Stimulation, Preschool, Games Rooms and Traveling Boxes.
- Promoting the boys’ and girls’ physical, mental, emotional and social development.
- Encouraging healthy habits, so that disease may be prevented and the levels of food security may be increased for all the boys and girls that benefit from the Pre-school, Kindergarten and Transition programs.
- Acquisition by the boys’ and girls’ parents and the community mothers of theoretical and practical tools that will allow them to get to know and adequately accompany the evolutionary process and the goals of their children’s development.
- Making visible the support of national and international cooperation among the participating population and the community at large in the Municipality of Chigorodó and the Department of Antioquia.
The total amount of this initiative adds up to €251.315, which are contributed by the Fraternidad Medellín Foundation (€19.223), the Mayor’s Office of Chigorodó (€4.038), COMFENALCO Antioquia (€102.054) and the aforementioned sum by the Government of Navarra through Compartir Navarra.
